If I could give it 6 stars I would do it without hesitation! My husband and I found the scenery and the cruise itself very interesting. There were only two more people with us which made us feel like we are on a charter cruise! No crowds, no people pushing each other to take photos of the wildlife. It was a pleasure to do this cruise with John and his son as they are very experienced and knowledgeable locals. This cruise is definitely value for money! I would not hesitate choosing it over other bigger excursions. Thank you!

Had the opportunity to join John and Ollie on a wonderful two hour tour! They are both so knowledgeable about the local area and the wildlife we saw. The boat ride itself was amazing...such a beautiful part of New Zealand. And then to see wildlife was very special. We truly appreciated how they would spot wildlife and point them out to their guests but would not intrude upon them at all.

The tour with the small family business Southern Wanderer was a lot of fun. The groups are rather small with a maximum of 8 people and therefore very informal. I highly recommend the early tour at 9am, there are no other boats out there yet and the wildlife is amazing.
